Who I Am
I'm Wendy Bartos, a software engineer in the Bay Area.
I'm always learning - passionate about technology, collaboration, and
collaboration through technology. When I started learning to code, I
felt like I had found my tribe. I quickly discovered that a passion
for learning and pursuing varied interests were the norm in this
community. Ideas beget ideas, but ideas mean nothing without
application. Being a software engineer has empowered me to harness my
ideas, apply my problem-solving skills to create efficient solutions,
and manifest them into reality.
I'm always taking on new challenges. My latest feat was completing a
100K endurance run along the Tahoe Rim Trail - a stepping stone in my
pursuit of running 100 miles through the African wilderness.
Outside of coding, I'm a fitness professional. A firm believer in the
mind-body connection, I coach my clients to change their behaviors and
reach their health and fitness goals - all while having fun!

What I Do
WeHive
WeHive is a responsive React app, with authentication, in which users can create accountability groups to track their progress and motivate each other.
Spaced Box
Our server evaluates a user's response to a given word and adjusts the word's memory value in our database, accordingly. The memory value then determines the frequency in which the word is displayed to the user. This technique has proven effective in improving long-term memory retention.

Tech Stack
I developed this web app using the Harry Potter REST API (currently down for maintenance) because life at Hogwarts would be so much easier if witches and wizards had Google. Navigate the user interface with a magic wand and use the enchanted quill to search the Harry Potter API for your magical needs.
